On Monday, April 8th, 2019, I submitted three drawings into the juried 45th Annual Prairie Art Exhibit, held inside the Studio 96 Gallery in Sterling, Kansas. The juror was Jim Clements, whose oil paintings have been awarded both nationally and internationally, so I was very nervous, yet excited to see if my work would be acceptable to someone of his caliber.
The artworks were juried from Tuesday through Wednesday and their results were published today on the Rice County Arts Council Facebook page, which you can see here: https://www.facebook.com/RiceCountyArtsCouncil/
I was the only charcoal media artist displaying. I was generously awarded 2nd Place overall, and award Merit Award as well. So TWO awards!
The drawings submitted for jury were the following:
- “Hey Charlie! Look Over There!” – 2nd Place
- “John Wayne in Big Jake” – Merit Award
- “The Peony”
I just want to take the time to thank all of you, my followers and readers, because some of you are kind enough to leave comments and feedback. Those little bits of inspiration really help me keep going and wanting to improve. I can’t thank enough, those of you who do comment and provide feedback. I NEED IT!
Thanks for following and now it’s time to celebrate! I’ll be dancing on the roof top and out in the streets like no one is watching.
