“The Spanish Dancer” – horse drawing

Good Day!

Just finished this drawing last night. I rendered it as a personal tribute of sorts, for the Spanish Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art.  I substituted the original white horse for one of my favorite colored horses, which you’ll soon see.  Drawn mostly using a 6B Wolffs carbon pencil with a little bit of Nitram HB charcoal for the softer areas. Hope you enjoy. I’ve provided some close ups of the drawing so that you can see the details. Continue reading “The Spanish Dancer” – horse drawing

I’m posting the reference photo, the tools I used, and the final result.  It’s pretty basic but I’m happy with the end result considering the speed at which it was drawn. I’d like to be able to draw a semi-realistic portrait in about two hours. This one was just a bit over that limit. Continue reading Rick “The Muse” – quick charcoal portraiture
