R.O.A.R – juried exhibit in Russell, Kansas

Greetings!

This coming Saturday and Sunday, (October 6th and 7th) I’ll be submitting several of my original drawings into the R.O.A.R – Russell’s Original Art Review. This is an event that has been going on for 50 years and draws quite a few artists from all across Kansas. I am hoping that my work will be accepted for jury. Results of jury will be announced the final day of the exhibit. The exhibit is open to the public from October 12th – 14th, ending at 4 p.m. in Russell, Kansas in the exhibition center located on the fair grounds northeast of town.

Hope to see some of you there!

GALLERY ALLEY – October 26th, 2018

Greetings!  I have another solo art exhibit coming up October 26th, 2018 at “GALLERY ALLEY” located at 616 E. Douglas Ave, Wichita, Kansas.  This will be a ONE DAY event and I will have mostly ALL ORIGINALS on display: horses, Hollywood character portraits, mastercopies of Frank Frezetta, Bougeureau, and my own works.  It’s an outdoor venue, so this is going to depend upon the weather conditions that evening. Show will run from 6 – 9 p.m. if the weather proves cooperative. Live music will also be available and lots of places to eat will be very close, or right across the street!  And don’t forget!  I still have my “Essence of Charcoal” going on at “L’image” over at 615 West Douglas until October 12th.

“A Desert Sunrise”

A “still life” in charcoal and carbon. Hope you enjoy.  Continue reading “A Desert Sunrise”

“Amongst The Lilies Fair” – still life drawing

A great big “Thank You” to DGG who has been kind enough to send me photos of her flowering garden plants. She has a nuclear green thumb so if anyone reading this is having problems with their garden, just send me an email and I’ll put you in contact 🙂  Continue reading “Amongst The Lilies Fair” – still life drawing

The Gardenia – still life

Short and sweet here folks: another attempt at still life, only this time it involves flowers. I have to admit, this one was a bit difficult due to the delicate touch required to render some of the textures and effects of the drawing. Hope you enjoy!  Continue reading The Gardenia – still life

UNTAMED

This is going to be pretty short and straight forward post with the photos showing progress and completion. I drew this using Wolff’s 6B carbon pencil in a manner that is similar to some of my older long drawings. Enjoy.  Continue reading UNTAMED

From Out of The Mist

I’m going to write quite a bit about this drawing because there are lots of things that I want to discuss regarding how this piece came together and many of the things I had to consider. But since I know there are really impatient people, I’ll suggest you scroll down to the bottom of the blog to see the “finished” result.  Continue reading From Out of The Mist
